We’re reaching out to inform you about the current migration of our email services. The following important information pertains to your PenTeleData email addresses:

What’s Changing:

Our current email provider, Synacor, is discontinuing the Zimbra X product line. The new platform will provide enhanced performance, additional security, and a better deliverability platform. 

What You Can Expect:

  • Current Issue: If you’re encountering issues accessing Webmail, please try clearing your browser cache. You may need to clear the cache as far back as 7 days. Instructions for clearing browser cache can be found at https://www.ptd.net/clearnow.
  • Minimal Disruption: We’ve designed the transition to be as seamless as possible. However, during the first phase of this migration, some customers were forced to refresh or clear their browser cache due to the back-end changes which were required to facilitate the migration. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
  • Temporary Migration Changes: At this time, your account has not been migrated to the new platform, however, when you login to https://promail.ptd.net you may see the URL https://promail-legacy.ptd.net/. This is a legitimate and temporary URL. Please do not bookmark it. You should continue to use https://promail.ptd.net as your login page. New accounts created on or after 03/27/25 will be automatically added to the new platform. New customers and email accounts created after 03/27/25 will see the following URL https://promailx.ptd.net/modern after logging into https://promail.ptd.net.
  • Improved Performance: The new platform will improve email reliability and allow our vendor to respond more quickly to security issues and updates.
  • Important SECURITY Notice: In order to avoid scammers and phishers from attempting to abuse this migration and hijack your account, all emails from PenTeleData will be posted to the https://www.ptd.net/news/email-announcements. If an email concerning account migration, access, or anything else to do with your PenTeleData login is not posted to the PTD Email Announcement page mentioned, it is not a legit message and should be ignored and deleted.
  • Phase II: When we’re ready to begin account migrations, we will send a follow-up email outlining the start of the account migrations as well as minor changes customers may see in Webmail during this process.
